BCC Baseball Statement on COVID-19

BCC Baseball Family,
We hope everyone is safe and healthy and appreciate your patience over the past several weeks as we monitored whether we could offer a full or abbreviated spring baseball season. Throughout this challenging and unprecedented time, we continue to focus on the health and safety of our players, parents, and coaches. Given the current environment it is with great sadness and disappointment that we are writing to inform you that we are cancelling the 2020 Spring Baseball Season for our recreational baseball, softball, and select leagues.
As many of you know, BCC Baseball is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We have always maintained the philosophy that our registration fees should be affordable and accessible to all families. BCC’s goal has always been and will continue to be to provide great value and quality programming for our players, families and community.
Our fees are budgeted to cover our direct team expenses as well as our general overhead and support costs. We typically use the revenue from the Spring registration fees that are collected in November to pay our operational overhead for the six-month period from December through May of the following year. As such, we have continued to mow and maintain our fields, purchased equipment/supplies and continued to incur other typical expenses in anticipation of the spring season.
BCC Baseball has served the community for 27 years and we hope to be ready as soon as it is deemed safe and prudent for play to resume, but we need your help.
For us to survive these difficult times, we need the majority of our customers to donate all or part of their registration fees. We urgently ask for your help to get us through and sincerely appreciate your generosity. With that said, BCC understands completely that this spring has been financially hard on many families so below are three options for your consideration. Please review and choose the option that is affordable for your family:
1. Please keep my complete Spring 2020 player registration fee as a tax-deductible donation to BCC Baseball.
2. Please keep 50% of my Spring 2020 player registration as a tax-deductible donation to BCC Baseball and refund the balance.
3. Unfortunately, we are unable to make a donation at this time. Please refund my fee.
