Baseball Bat Restrictions

In all BCC Baseball leagues, double walled bats are strictly prohibited. All other bats of any kind of material (wood, aluminum, composite, etc.) are permitted. Double walled baseball bats consist of two thin walls within the barrel that are close to each other. These walls act as 'springs' when the ball contacts the barrel. The batted ball is supposed to travel farther and faster.

The following is a summary of BCC Baseball’s bat size restrictions for each baseball league (incorporated in official rules):

National League – maximum length of 33 inches and maximum barrel size 2 ¼ inches; no weight restriction

American League – maximum length of 33 inches and maximum barrel size 2 ¼ inches; no weight restriction

Minor League – maximum length of 33 inches and maximum barrel size 2 ¼ inches; no weight restriction

Minor Select – maximum length of 33 inches and maximum barrel size 2 ¼ inches; no weight restriction

Major League – maximum length of 33 inches and maximum barrel size 2 ¼ inches; no weight restriction

Major Select – no length or barrel size restrictions; no weight restriction

Senior League -- for league age 15 and younger – no length or barrel size restrictions; no weight restriction for league age 16 and older – the bat’s length/weight ratio must be a “-3” or higher (e.g., “-2, -1, etc.); ; no other weight restriction
